2019-05-07 The WAN-IFRA's Women in News Editorial Leadership Award recognises an exemplary contribution of an Editor to her newsroom - and under her leadership the contribution of her newspaper - to society. Two Editors from Lebanon and South Sudan receive the 2019 Award recognizing exceptional leadership in the newsroom. WAN-IFRA and the World Editors Forum are calling the authorities to do everything possible to ensure that Ms McKee’s murderer is swiftly brought to justice. Identifying and prosecuting the killer - and those who facilitated the violence that led to Ms McKee’s death will deliver a clear statement that the safety of journalists is a priority and that there is no impunity for anyone committing such an act. The Awards is an initiative of the World Printers Forum, the print community of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers. The competition celebrates the most innovative print ads as well as newspaper and magazine publishers’ products worldwide.
