    27.12.2018 – One of the most extensive investment projects in the European newspaper industry is currently heading into its final phase. Since 2017, Belgium’s biggest newspaper printing plant, Coldset Printing Partners (CPP), has been renovating the printing section at its Paal-Beringen site. In future, there will be five production lines instead of four. CPP, a customer of Ferag for many years, has invested in equipment such as the tried-and-tested MultiSertDrum, MultiStack and StreamFold components. Read more ...

    Montreal, Jan. 1, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ – Resolute Forest Products Inc. (NYSE: RFP) (TSX: RFP) today announced that, on December 31, 2018, it completed the previously disclosed sale of the Catawba, South Carolina, paper and pulp mill to New-Indy Containerboard, LLC ("New-Indy"), pursuant to the terms of the asset purchase agreement dated October 2, 2018. The total purchase price of about $300 million consists of $260 million in cash, before customary closing adjustments, and the assumption of approximately $40 million of balance sheet liabilities, largely net pension benefit obligations.     January 2, 2019 – With the management buyout, ppi Media is separating from the Eversfrank Group, which acquired the company from manroland AG in 2012, and will in future focus on its own core business. The software company with over 100 employees at its locations in Kiel, Hamburg and Chicago sells integrated software solutions. The solutions ranging from cross-media editorial systems to entire publishing workflows are distributed in more than 20 countries for customers who belong to the “who-is-who” of the international media industry.
