XMA Cross Media Awards 2010 Winners Announced

2010-10-05

Thirteen media companies have won the 2010 XMA Cross Media Awards, the annual prize from the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) to honour companies that are using a wide variety of platforms -- print, web, mobile, video and more -- to deliver editorial and advertising content in innovative ways.

This year's award, presented Monday (4 October) for the fifth time at the IFRA Expo (http://www.ifraexpo.com ), focused on publishers who use multimedia to build relationships with local markets, encourage interactivity, and help advertisers create local campaigns.

"If you think and act beyond the limits of print, the local market offers an enormous revenue potential for newspapers," said Meinolf Ellers, Managing Director of dpa-infocom/dpa-mediatec, an XMA juror and co-leader of the WAN-IFRA 'goLocal' project (http://www.ifra.net/messages/golocal-a-newsplex-initiative ). "The XMA Awards 2010 provides impressive examples of how publishers worldwide start to exploit these opportunities by making the local customer the focus of their crossmedia strategies."
