The World Association of News Publishers is looking for an Intern, European Digital Events & E-Learning.

WAN-IFRA members include publishers like the New York Times, the Guardian and Axel Springer. As the global association for news media, we are dedicated to press freedom, media development and the development of sustainable new business models.

We run highly regarded study tours, conferences and e-learning programmes for media executives looking to transform their newspapers into profitable digital platforms.

You will get to travel and work on exciting events and training programmes for the news media industry, with a team looking forward to hearing your ideas.

You’ll support us in running the events, writing engaging marketing material and interacting with senior news executives from around the world. It’s a great way to improve your knowledge of the media industry and make contacts for your future career.

The role includes supporting our Media Management Accelerator (MMA) e-learning with approx 10 hours of video covering topics ranging from advertising to digital subscriptions.

Your tasks

  • Support the planning and logistics of our study tours and conferences
  • Helping create marketing material and mailings for our events and e-learnings
  • Attending and supporting our conferences on-site as needed
  • Helping new users get started on MMA & keeping in contact with our MMA user community
  • Helping launch new language versions of MMA in second half of 2019 (e.g. Arabic / Russian)
  • Supporting new platforms - e.g. our e-learning content on Xing
  • Attending and assisting on MMA at our expo or conference stands

Your profile

  • Interested in the digital news media industry!
  • Graduate or Student (digital education, marketing, media / communication)
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Excellent spoken and written German or other European language
  • Basic web skills - familiarity with Wordpress, simple HTML etc
  • Social media understanding
  • Good communication, time management and organisational skills
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and outgoing
  • EU citizen or with work permit for Germany (essential)
