Founder, Mark Porter Associates, UK

Mark Porter is one of the world's leading editorial designers.

He began his career in magazines, and art directed iconic titles like Wired and Colors. He became Creative Director of the Guardian, where he orchestrated the newspaper's relaunch in Berliner format, hailed as a benchmark in contemporary editorial design. He subsequently oversaw the design of the Guardian's award-winning website and mobile apps.

Today, Mark heads up Mark Porter Associates, a highly capable, streamlined studio based in London. MPA handles a broad sweep of international commissions, creating editorial products and identities for print, web, mobile and television, with content always in the front seat.

Mark's experience of both high-end print projects and cutting-edge digital developments give him a unique insight into the design requirements of media in the connected world.

His projects have been exhibited in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and have twice been nominated as Designs of the Year by the London Design Museum. He has also collected a mantelpiece of top design prizes, including a black pencil in the D&AD awards, the only editorial design project to have managed it so far.
