South Asian Newspaper Directory 2013-15

Article ID:

This publication in your hands is the second edition of WAN-IFRA’s South Asia Newspapers Directory. It is the result of more than 5 months of labour to collect data on the infrastructure employed in newspaper houses across South Asia. The first edition brought out in 2011 was very successful and became a much sought after publication from the industry peers across
the globe. The objective of this publication is simple. One of the fond desires among newspaper publishers is to have an opportunity to learn from one another. This publication is an effort to bridge this knowledge gap and to present the collective technology practice of the industry in this part of the
world, South Asia.

The directory contains information on more than 125 publishing houses in South Asian region. The infrastructure employed by the newspapers is categorised in three heading – press, prepress and post press. Many newspaper publishers openly came forward to share elaborate details of the infrastructure used in their organisation and these data have added to the value our readers would get out of this publication. In addition, the details
of key executives in each of the organisation are included. A section on suppliers is included to make this publication a good cross-reference tool.
We also intend to mine the data in this publication to study the industry trends. All these efforts, we hope, would help the newspaper publishers to understand and adopt the best practices suitable to their organisation and to manage the business efficiently.

We have taken a lot of effort and utmost care to present the data correct as much as possible. If there is any update in the data, we will be happy to make the relevant changes in our online edition.
