eRev – discover new sources of profitability

eRev is an initiative set up by WAN-IFRA in response to the growing digital media market and the increasing focus on the business side of the publishing industry. In the project, WAN-IFRA partners with publishing houses with the aim of helping them meet new and changing needs of the consumers, to create and sustain business, to identify trends and to adapt to new technology. The project deals with how media companies can leverage their brand as well as core values and their existing organisation in order to create new business.

The project allows its members to be proactive in responding to the needs of a mobile generation. Furthermore, by joining forces, participants have the opportunity to network with the best in the market. Publishers also gain access to valuable benchmarking from top players outside the industry.

By gathering together world-class publishers, the project constitutes a networking and learning platform, which will act as a springboard to new ideas and ventures.

The project consists of a number of independent meetings and workshops.

Deliverables – Project outcomes

The project activities will lead to outcomes, including:

  • Identifying investment strategies for e-reading
