The 2016 News Media World Report focuses on reimagining the traditional means through which news organisations connect with consumers.

Available to WAN IFRA members, the annual includes in-depth analysis of new mediums, alternative revenue streams, newsroom transformation and the future of print.

Innovations in News Media World Report 2016

Juan Señor picked out the top themes in the report:

  • The 5 new revenue streams for newspapers as they migrate to news media brands
  • How to win on mobile – it is not just a device, it is a new medium; content and business models that work
  • How to go beyond the integrated newsroom to TRANSMEDIA newsrooms – lessons from the most successful newsroom transformations today
  • How to reinvent journalism with new digital narratives

How to reinvent print – the paper edition will not die – ignore it at your own peril and do not reinvent it at your own peril.

“Finally, if in 2016 you are still talking about culture change, it may be too late. The report will give you ideas how to achieve permanent culture change once and for all in the newsroom and the boardroom,” said Señor.

The report will be released on 13 June at WAN IFRA’s 2016 World News Media Conference in Cartagena, Colombia after Juan Señor’s session Innovations in Newspapers 2016: Hot Off the Press.
